How Many Faces Do You Have?

”A face is like the outside of a house, and most faces, like most houses, give us an idea of what we can expect to find inside.”

Who is the real you?  Are the “you” people see really you?  Who are you really?  When we take a serious look at who we really are, we may be troubled by what we see.  Or…maybe we already know who we are and do a good job of hiding it.  You know the judgment, “.. they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.” Standing there before God, we won’t be able to cover up who we really are.  We will be exposed and even have to give an account for every idle word we have spoken,

But then God said, “I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.”  Is repentance important?  You bet!

So what about your faces?  Think about it, do you have a “face” you wear at church that is different than the “face” you wear at work or school?  What about your face at the ball game when the ref makes a bad call?  What face do you wear to the store or around your family?  Is it different?  And finally, what face do you wear when no one is around?  You may think you’re by yourself but, you know, God is always there.  How many faces do you have?

The point is that we should have only one face; the face that is the real us.  The fact that God.

wants us to wear.  The face He planned for us to have before we were born.  The face that will be pleasing to Him.  That’s the face we should wear no matter where we are or who we’re with even when we’re by ourselves.

You may be thinking, “I realize now my closet is full of masks.”  “What do I do?”  It must involve the renewing of our mind,  Your thoughts will begin to be changed, your Spirit will become stronger than your flesh, and these changes will filter down to your heart.  And what’s in your heart will come out of your mouth, Your words will change and you will react .  to situations.  The whole while the Holy Spirit will continue to train you, “from glory to glory” until you find that the face you wear at the ball game, around your family, or by yourself is the same face you wear at church.

Let’s all make it a point to begin getting rid of the faces that came with our evil flesh and more and more wear the face of the One in whose image we were created.

  1. I have observed that people who have too many faces shouldn’t be trusted in the long run. There’s a reason to everything, and sometimes it is better to be safe than sorry. An avergae joe might have 2-3 faces at maximum, but you understand that deception awaits you somewhere in the future when the count gets more than 3. Not everyone is hardwired to have multiple faces. Each face has a web of lies woven behind it to keep it unveiled. There’s also a famous research where people who lie non chalantly seem to trust those more with whom they have lied less, and not those who are ‘actually’ more trustworthy! I am forgetting that paper (Bok was the researcher, I guess). Interesting article! 😊

      1. People sometimes invent reasons and keep skirting from the truth! The world was always wild, will always be so! It’s just how you think and justify things! 🌸🌼🌻

      2. Then what’s the purpose of this blog! Lol! 😂😂😂
TBH I don’t care! I’m taking about the lie spinners! Why waste mental energy dealing with something that’s embedded in their own human nature! I guess, everyone’s wired differently! So, we shouldn’t take it to heart. 😊

      3. I mean, the universe takes care of everything, anyway! We’re all mortals, eh, forgetting from time to time that we’ve been gifted an infinitesimal amount of time to enjoy here! Why waste it on purposeless adventures, why not tap into ourselves and enjoy our own potential! Mask, no mask, the universe doesn’t care! 😂😂😂

      4. But I still believe masks are mostly an excuse, in my opinion! Never seen any great person about whom we’ve read wear masks! Like Steve Jobs, or Elon Musk, they are busy in their own worlds, I think they to an extent over all these issues! Lol! 😊
